Sue is CEO of the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre (3M BIC) at the University of Huddersfield, which supports businesses with innovation, technology adoption, and engagement with the research capabilities of the University. 3M BIC also hosts the Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Centre incubating student and graduate enterprise, as well as the Leeds City Region Supply Chain Programme.
Previously Executive Head of Economic Services at the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Sue led the development and delivery of LEP services in the Leeds City Region, responsible for skills and employment, business growth and competitiveness, and trade and inward investment, including the successful Channel 4 win.
Other previous roles include directing strategy, policy, and operations for Business Link West Yorkshire, managing key business relationships for Kirklees Council and delivering consultancy projects. Sue has also taught business strategy on MBA programs at business schools across the region, including at the University of Huddersfield, University of Bradford Management Centre and Sheffield Business School.
