Tongji University’s Entrepreneurship Education Research Center
Prof. dr. Lingling Li is the director of Tongji University’s Entrepreneurship Education Research Centre (Shanghai), trainer-coach for UNIDO & ARCEIT and an official expert on China’s Ministry of Education’s Entrepreneurship Training Steering Committee. In 2016 she received a special UNIDO award in Vienna: “Women Entrepreneurs, Women Empowered”. She’s regularly invited to present at conferences in China and abroad.
In 2010 she was visiting professor at IN-EAST of Duisburg-Essen University in Germany. In 2006 she won the bid to provide Shanghai’s 1,500 middle schools with an educational game she’d specially designed. Before that, she developed a new teaching program for the university’s new biomedical engineering department. Over the years she’s published several books and many articles, both in Chinese and in English.
Her lectures are very hands-on. She invites successful entrepreneurs to share their experience with eager students, who have to put theory into practice from day one. Ideas become plans, which turn into start-ups. Professor Li manages to secure millions of renminbi of seed capital for these, ranging from entertainment to fashion, to environmental protection. To reach even more students, she put her lectures online and added weekly live lessons and Q&A sessions. She thus managed to reach around 300,000 students throughout China in just 3 years.
Her management science Ph.D. thesis – C.I. Ability: Improving Chinese entrepreneurs’ core competency – provides a model with tools to analyze, compare and improve leaders’ communication and information processing ability, based on hundreds of personal interviews with business leaders. Her computer engineering master research was on high-performance magnetic flux control of frequency inverters. Over the years she’s been taught herself by world-class trainers like Colin Powell, John Maxwell, John Gray, Peter Senge, and Dr. Hashim Hussein.
“My mission is to help others promote health, happiness and entrepreneurial energy. My method motivates students to DO, to accomplish the things they had only dared to dream or theorize about before. That approach is a real winner because the companies those students started during my course became successful businesses.”
Nowadays her life shuttles between China and Europe. She’s happy to expand her research and set up new programs. You can reach her at firstname.lastname@example.org .
