Ms. Shaikha Abdullah Al-Fadhel, Director of the SME Development Directorate, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism since June 2016. Holds an MBA degree from Hull University (UK) and has submitted her thesis on the role and contribution of the SME sector in the national economy, a bachelor’s degree in business administration and Finance from the University College of Bahrain (UCB), and a high diploma in Islamic finance, and obtained many training certificates.
Ms. Al Fadhel has worked as a Senior Manager at Bahrain Development Bank with over 10 years of experience in SME finance, established several financing programs and schemes in collaboration with the Bank.
Currently, Ms. Al Fadhel is the project officer of the SME Development Board, that is chaired by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism; oversees policies for SME development and related strategic initiatives.
Ms. Al Fadhel has Contributed in the preparation of the strategic plan of the SMEs Development Board for the development of startups, Micro, small and medium enterprises in addition to several initiatives to strengthen the sector; Ms. Al Fadhel contributed in cooperation and coordination with the stakeholders in launching dedicated center for developing SMEs exports “Export Bahrain”.
